Wayne Smith Memorial Scholarship

This $1000 award in memory of Wayne Smith will go to a student selected for their love of athletics and education. Wayne and his wife Pat, raised two Madeira alums and were long time members and supporters of the Madeira Schools Foundation. Wayne coached football at the recreational and high school level. He then went on to help bring the first soccer program to Madeira. he even convinced his wife, Pat, to create a team with her troop of Girl Scouts! Their legacy of giving back to their community lives on through this award, helping to support the next step in a students educational and athletic career at a university or college.

Must submit
-High school transcript
-Financial document
 -Short paragraph on “How you participated in sports or extra curricular activities in Madeira”
  • One award of $1000

Criteria for selection:

  • Madeira student attending any higher education university or college
  • Student who has been involved in athletics in recreational or high school supported programs, as a player, coach or support role/li>
  • Student with a C average or above

Scholarship Committee.
Scholarship funds dispersed in August prior to the student’s first semester in college

Scholarship payment will be sent directly to the college, university, or vocational school of the recipient’s choice.
