This scholarship was started by former Superintendent Steve Kramer and is now funded continually by the Madeira Schools Foundation in his honor to award a deserving student each year who has improved his/her academic standing during their high school career.
One award of $1,000
Criteria for selection:
Scholarships may be used for continuing education in accredited vocational or non-proprietary universities, colleges, or vocational schools.
A Steve Kramer Scholarship recipient is free to accept other scholarships and is eligible to receive other scholarships funded by the Madeira Schools Foundation.
This scholarship identifies a student who is well-rounded and may have been positively recognized for his/her achievement in areas other than academic grades. He/she will have maintained at least a B/C average and will have shown a positive trend in GPA and/or a determination to succeed during his/her high school career.
Recipient selection/Judging Committee: (3) judges who may be MSF Trustees and/or members of the MSF
Scholarship Committee.
Awards will be granted on the following basis: 25% based on need, 75% based on character, determination to succeed, and academic performance or improvement.
Scholarship payment will be sent directly to the college, university, or vocational school of the recipient’s choice.
